Latest Home Meet News: T-4days!!

1.   Swimmer signup for our Home Meet, Wausau and Oshkosh closed Monday at 5:00pm.   Sorry if you missed the deadlines.   We have over 100 SPDY swimmers signed up for our meet.  THAT’S A-M-A-Z-I-N-G!!!

2. Volunteer signup is nearly complete but we still need the final spots filled.   So far we’ve filled 117 spots but as I’ve mentioned in my past e-mails we need to be at 100%.   We still are in need of 35 more volunteers.   Putting on a two day meet is a big deal.   If you haven’t signed up, please do so TODAY either on deck or call our Volunteer Coordinator Deb at 572-8649.   If you can take an additional position, your additional help will be greatly appreciated.   Let’s all do what we can and finish this.   We are short:

            a.) Gym Scoreboard all sessions (4 people).

            b.) Timers all sessions (9 people).

            c.) Concessions all sessions (12 people).

            d.) Event Announcer mornings both days (2 people).

            e.) Cleanup after the meet on Sunday (8 people).

3.   Only 4 donated items are still needed.   Two one gallon buckets of pasta salad, one box of beef jerky sticks and puppy chow.   

4. If you signed up to bring fresh items for the meet, they can be brought either Friday night during concessions setup at 5pm or Saturday morning by 8am.

5.   SPDY warm-ups: Saturday 9:00am, meet starts at 10:45am.  Sunday warm-ups at 6:30am (no joke), Meet starts at 8:15am.

6. The YMCA has asked if the SPDY families could please park behind the YMCA both days leaving the main lots open for our regular YMCA members and visiting guests.   The back door by concessions will be open.

7.   Both the apparel and team suite orders are in and can be picked up on deck starting tonight and Wednesday at 4:15-6:00pm.  If we’re not the fastest team or the biggest team at the meet at least we’ll definitely be the best looking team J

Additional Team News

Good luck to our SPDY, SPASH and Wisconsin Rapids girls high school swimmers who will be competing in the WIAA Sectional Meet this Saturday in Hudson and unable to attend our home meet.   The girls have set many records this season and countless personal best swims.    Keep up the hard work and carry on through to State.

And finally, next week Thursday November 13^th, we will be taking our team photo at 5:30pm.   We will meet at Training pool and then move down to the Adventure Pool.   Following team photo’s we will have a pizza party.   Signup sheets are now available on deck.   I know it is short notice but it’s the best time when we can include both our High School boys and girls. More details to follow.
