Lacrosse/Wausau Tide USA Meet update

Updated: 12/17/2009 at 2:53 PM
I have gotten numerous questions regarding the two meets being held over the weekend of January 9-10. Since I am the only coach available that weekend, I will be attending the meet in LaCrosse. Since there will be no coach present at the Wausau Tide meet, I am not opening up this meet to everyone. Only SPDY swimmers who are registered with USA swimming may compete at the Wausau Tide meet. This is consistent with what we have done in the past. USA swimmers that are interested in doing this meet please contact me so I can send your entry in a Hy-Tek format. At the end of the season I will evaluate the meets we did this season and make changes if I deem them necessary. If you have questions or concerns about this please let me know. If you are interested in signing up your swimmer with USA swimming, or have any questions about what USA swimming is all about, please contact me. If you are currently a registered USA swimmer for 2010, I would like a copy of your registration card. Thanks! Many of the concerns about this weekend revolve around the availability and cost of hotels in the LaCrosse area. I did some research on a couple online travel websites and found numerous hotel options for under $100 a night in the LaCrosse area. If you are considering going to this meet and have not booked a hotel, I would consider checking out Priceline, Expedia, hotels.com, or any other travel website to find a decent rate. Remember, just because the meet is over multiple days does not mean you have to do every day of that meet. You do have the choice of signing up for just Saturday or Sunday for the LaCrosse meet. Looking ahead past the LaCrosse meet, we have a meet every weekend until the end of the season. It is not a bad idea to start planning out which meets you are planning on attending. Remember, in order to swim the CWSC Division Meet, you will have needed to participate in two prior CWSC meets. In order to swim in the CWSC Conference meet, you must have qualified at the Division Meet. I will present a clearer version of this as we get closer to these meet dates. When we get into 2010 meet information and sign-ups will be coming out quickly, so please stay on top of when deadlines are. If you have questions regarding our meet schedule or any of the remaining meets I will be more than happy to help answer them. I hope everyone has a happy and safe Holiday Season! Our regular practice schedule will resume on December 28th in the Training pool.
