Good afternoon everyone.

Good luck to our YMCA State Qualifier this weekend!!   A lot of hard work is about to pay off.

1.        This coming Monday, March 22nd we will be hosting our Family Fun Night at 5 Star Lanes from 5:30-7:30p.m. 1960 Post Road, Plover (341-2695) The cost included bowling, shoes and one pitcher of soda per lane. Food is optional and at your own expense.  Please contact Kim Basala at 252-2775 or email at kimberlybasala@gmail.com if you have any questions.

2.        Also on Monday, we will take our State Swimmers pictures at 5 Star Lanes.   Time: 5:15pm. Sport your State Team T-shirt and bring any ribbons / medals / trophies you may have earned.

3.        As a reminder, Saturday, April 10th is our Million Inch Swim. The Million Inch Swim is an opportunity for swimmers to challenge themselves while having a fun day in the pool.    The goals are: 6 & Under –    1, 000 yards, 7 & 8 – 1, 650 yards,   9 & 10 – 5, 000 yards,  11 & 12 – 10, 000 yards, 13 & above – 15, 000 yards.   The cost is $7 per swimmer plus 1 “dish to pass” per family.    More exciting details will follow along with e-mail signup sheets. Parents don’t forget your suits, we hope for everyone to be in the water.    In 2009, SPDY used the Million Inch as an opportunity to raise money for a coach diagnosed with cancer.    In 2010, and beyond, we plan to use any funds donated (not the $7 registration free) to establish a charity fund to help swimmers and their families in similar needs. Questions contact Brent Hall at bthall99@sbcglobal.net

4.        Tuesday, April 13th SPDY will be making phone calls for the YMCA Strong Kids Campaign.    We have many swimmers and families benefiting from this program. This is our chance to pay it forward for next year.    Please consider joining us. Time: 5-6pm. We will meet outside Eric’s office and move to the phone banks.   Snacks will be provided by the YMCA.  Contact Steve Harris at sharris@wisp.k12.wi.us   to join in.

5.        Saturday, April 17th SPDY Banquet and Parent Advisory Board Elections. This is also the time when we elect our next year’s members to Parent Advisory Board.    All interested are highly encouraged to become involved.    Please talk with any of this year’s Advisory Board members and they will gladly fill you in. Questions contact Steve Harris at sharris@wisp.k12.wi.us

This year our banquet will be held in SPASH’s South Commons.    SPASH’s Professional Cooking class will be providing the main dishes. Cost is $5.00 per person, swimmer or family member regardless of age plus a side to pass.    Signup sheets to be e-mailed.
