For those new to the State Meet, the following are
suggestions/ideas to make this coming weekend's meet easier and more enjoyable.
Meet information, printable heat sheets, time lines,
and parking information can be found at: www.wsacltd.org
The YMCA parking lot is small and there is a fee to
park on the East side of the YMCA. North of the YMCA is now a medical
clinic taking up most of the parking north of the YMCA.
The best way to avoid a fee is to park in
the strip mall (behind Old Navy) located South of the YMCA and walk
over. Very short walk.
Heat sheets are available on the website FREE to be
printed - given above. They are also available at the YMCA for PURCHASE
the day of the meet.
There is an admission fee charged per day. If
your swimmer is swimming 2-3 days your best bet is to buy an admission
bracelet for the whole weekend, and that way you avoid standing in line
for admission each day.
Seating is very limited. There are bleachers for
spectators above the pools. Swimmers are to stay on deck. No camping
chairs are allowed in the YMCA.
There is NO rest area for swimmers and/or parents -
pack light.
Swimmers go on deck with the coaches and team, and
remain there for each session that they swim. Please be sure to pack
your swimmer(s) suit, towel, snacks, etc. accordingly. Locker rooms are
available, bring a LOCK.
State t-shirts are available for purchase at the
meet. Please be prepared to fill out an order form. This is
one area of the meet that is super busy.
Concessions and swim supplies are available for
purchase, like at most meets.
Videotaping and camera pictures (no flash photography
is allowed to be taken at the start of each event) are allowed.
Meet results are posted in the hallways outside of the
pool.
There are two pools used in the natatorium. During
the meet, the North pool is used for completion and South pool (the diving
pool) is used for continued warm ups and cool downs. All teams warm
up in both pools before the sessions.
The YMCA doesn't open early, so if you plan on getting
there early you'll need to stand in line to enter the building.
Awards MUST be picked up by swimmers and/or
parents.
**Most importantly this is a great
weekend for both swimmers and parents to show sportsmanship to all, and to
continue build upon being a team. Everyone- from the swimmers to the
coaches have worked hard all year to be here!**
Thank you to Coach Eric and all of the rest of the SPDY coaches for all their
hard work and commitment to the swimmers and the swim team program!
